The following is an update sent to residents and their families regarding the planning underway for reopening.

Dear residents,
Please keep up the great work in minimizing the impact of the flu and COVID-19 in our community. Frequent handwashing, not touching your face, and maintaining social distancing are important keys to defeating this virus. We need your continued help in ensuring that these basic infection control standards are followed. Again, these steps are crucial to stopping the introduction and spread of the infection.
The current shelter in place order will remain in place until at least May 13th, when the Governor’s public health emergency is set to expire. All services will remain as-is through this period of time. While we cannot provide detailed reopening plans to you until we know that the Governor’s shelter in place order has been lifted, please be assured we are currently planning and evaluating how we will ease restrictions, as well as what it will take to phase into more normal operations when the time comes.
We will continue to watch the trend of infections and hospitalizations in Roswell and throughout the state. Currently, the number of cases in Georgia continues to rise; therefore, we will continue to heed the recommendations coming from the CDC, Emory Healthcare and our local, state and federal officials for keeping our community safe.
Our reopening process will be gradual and some of our COVID protocol may remain in place:
- We will keep our entry checkpoint(s) up and running and continue requiring completion of our entry questionnaire, temperature checks and masking for anyone coming on property at least through May 13, and likely well beyond.
- We will begin allowing movers to move contents out of the building on April 30th under strict infection control protocols. Moving services have been considered essential services during the entire time of the Public Health Emergency; however, we stopped these services early on as an extra precaution.
- Our hair salon will reopen on or before May 4th under strict infection control protocols provided to us from both the Georgia Board of Cosmetology and the CDC.
- At present, we do not know when family visitations, move-ins and move-outs, transportation services, use of common areas and other activities and services will resume. Many of our communal spaces, services and activities are under review for reopening, and we will have a plan in place, ready to go, when the stay at home order is lifted. Resumption of these services and activities will happen gradually and with many of the current safeguards in place like screening, temperature checks and social distancing.
We are thankful to be in the position of being able to say we are still flu and COVID-free. It is a direct result of outstanding work and cooperation between both resident and employee Care Partners. Let’s keep this up as we begin to plan for a day where we are in closer community with each other and our loved ones. We will keep you informed of our plans for reopening as we know more, and appreciate your feedback as we begin to reintroduce services and activities.
